          Fair use refers to the boundaries within which copy-righted materials can and should be used. These laws vary depending on purpose and utilization of the material being considered, as well as whether or not payment is involved and the notion of royalties. The readings for today's class answer questions of when, how, and why. When fair use should be considered, is when any copy-righted materials are involved, which the readings mostly push to be on college campuses, or educational environments. How to ensure fair use of this material is answered by attributing the credit to the owner's of the work or when producing work, to avoid legal issues, make the work public so that people know they can use it legally. Fair use is important, as it can be found that many industries rely on it. Without fair use, information would be sort of isolated rather than expanded upon and critiqued/altered by the public, which are things that help to incite progression.
