1) I have to re-edit my pictures and apply the new images (that make my assemblage) to a new medium (draw them out). 2) -my pictures and the current meaning they hold     -my revamped meaning (for the assemblage product)     -my blog platform for the assemblage 3)-the medium needs to change (to hand-drawn)    -the editing of the pictures kind of clouds the meaning (and how it will change)    -add more/exchange some images for others that are more representative of the change I'm trying to showcase 4) I could compose a video of the original spread of images I have or I could paint them on a canvas as a part of one whole image (different from sketching them as different images).

I run a blog that discusses various aspects of pop culture and the social lives of individuals in the 19 to 28-age range (more heavily weighted on college life). For the new year, I had done a photo shoot over Winter break to mark the redesign of the blog and the new content that it will be showcasing in the following month. I decided to work with bright hues, models that reflected the age group of the audience, and outrageous and fashionable outfits. The setting for all of this had to be out of the box and place the outfits and models “out of context”. College kids dressed in odd high fashion selections in a park seemed to befit the notion of fashion and modernity challenging the outdoors.             For the photo-shoot undergoing remediation for Project 2, there are very intricate details that are not necessarily explained in the blurb preceding the exhibit on the blog page. The post only goes as far to mention what the images hope to accomplish in terms of setting a stage for the blog’s future and what’s to come. There is commentary on the bright hues and hope to bring about innovation among the modern world’s obsession with overproduction, repetition, and drone-trendiness. The shoot aims to challenge social norms while still being able to prove relevant and of good quality. My audience consists of college students and, truly, anyone in the 16-35 age range.             The setting of the images can be the first factor to take into consideration, as it is common for most people to associate outdoor settings with nude tones, loose fitting sheer materials, rust...

I am not really sure how I should describe myself, being that me as a person is probably different from me as a worker (or whether or not I should intermix personality, as that might make me stand out in a positive light to employers). This page provides what my resume does not. Rather than a list of experiences, this allows me to explain what I can do, as the other pages on the EPortfolio showcase.

             I feel that the audience I cater to values new and creative ideas that are also innovative and relevant, so the notion of remixing definitely would appeal to them. Arola explains assemblage (the remixing) to be, in part, “creative repition” (206). Transforming already formed ideas or pieces of art into something new while still retaining their original parts gives them new meaning and purpose, while also having them connect back to the audiences that viewed them before undergoing the remix process. Collages or reformed edits of art are forms of assemblage as they contain original material that has been reconstructed in some way.           The video "Everything is a Remix" seemed to sort of describe elements of assemblage. It described how pieces from older versions of one film franchise and factors from totally unrelated films and film franchises contributed to the revamping of one altogether. The film had been labeled a remix because though it was different overall, the base of the film remained the same which seemed to upset some fans (though they were pleased with how the new editions enhanced the film). This video really answered what assemblage is, and how it could work in a text like a movie. The video also answered how a product of assemblage can be different and the same, at the same time.

             My first project for this class required me to construct an exhibit based around the term “material”. I chose the route of a physical and 3-dimensional miniature museum exhibit, showcasing genre conventions of a typical museum exhibit, plus a few creative twists.   I purchased materials to begin constructing this mini exhibit using Disney, Ripley’s, and National Portrait Gallery in London as my inspiration, all places that I have been and that have best depicted to me what an interesting and educational exhibit’s layout would be. I would consider the making of this project to more so be a composition rather than writing. This is because it required the formulating of placement and structure without exactly using words. I supposed one could say that writing and composing are the same thing, however, I feel that composing requires more strategy, while writing can occur more freely, without any initial intention. Designer's Statement:            Material, from the context of several subjects, even those excluding literature, can essentially be defined as the items from which an item is comprised; what something is made of. The exhibit I have devised for Project 1 could be enlarged and placed in a museum that highlights important factors of texts and evolution, the agents of technogenesis (the coevolution and codependency of humans and text). The audience would be comprised of anyone who wishes to expand their knowledge on text forms and people who are interested in various art forms, more specifically the creative process and how one chooses material based on the message. This project could serve as a blueprint being that it is miniature. The base of it is Styrofoam board; multicolored sheets of construction paper, which would show the subcategories of the exhibit, represent the flooring.
