The different teams each did a very great job of tracking their success. During the presentations, the groups discussed different strategies they each used to employ the strategies of their campaign plans in real life.   Meeting with business owners and getting permission to use their brand was a common first step, and afterwards, discussion on how the businesses wanted to be promoted and represented. Some groups seemed to be restricted, however, by businesses that did not give resources or ample amounts of feedback. Restrictions also seemed to present themselves with businesses that did not allow certain forms of promotion or had no social media accounts at all. The best way to track campaign progress seemed to be electronically as applications like Twitter and Instagram allow people to track views and shares. My team and I had a hard time tracking the success of fliers. Web posts were the easiest, some even allowed direct interaction if a viewer had wanted to...

Writing, to me, no longer means applying words to blank canvases, but better defines expressing anything that can be explained or evoke a response that warrants the use of language to interact with it. Editing is the process of taken a written piece and refining it into something that is less spontaneous and more focused on something in particular; perhaps making something more clear (in terms of intention or message) than it was before. Composing is the ignition of thoughts that intend to pursue creation. Without expression, one may find it difficult to explain writing, in any form of meaning. Without understanding that a text is altered or could be altered for an array of purposes, one could never grasp the concept of editing. Without the concept of something being created or thought of intentionally, one could not grasp the process of composing. Each of these words are crucial to the respective words’ definitions in that w...

Multimodal texts of any sort, whether it be books or films that display texts, seem to vary in how they form their final output. The best word to describe, or at least associate with, multimodality would be hybrid. Audio, sound, and visuals are all paired together to enhance one message consolidated into one sole form of delivery, a single text. This resonates more with audience members, as it appeals to a variety of senses and aims to explain in every way simultaneously whatever message it is trying to convey. Multimodality, most importantly seems to be efficient in reception and delivery.

Designer's Statement: Link to Original Assemblage:  https://www.tbhtam.com/single-post/2018/01/01/2018            For Project 2, I selected a personal assemblage of my own making. I run a blog that discusses various aspects of pop culture and the social lives of individuals in the 19 to 28-age range (more heavily weighted on college life). For the new year, I had done a photo shoot over Winter break to mark the redesign of the blog and the new content that it will be showcasing in the following month. I decided to work with bright hues, models that reflected the age group of the audience, and outrageous and fashionable outfits. The setting for all of this had to be out of the box and place the outfits and models “out of context”. College kids dressed in odd high fashion selections in a park seemed to befit the notion of fashion and modernity challenging the outdoors. The goal was to have them sort of utilizing nature for vanity rather than...

Mini-Post : In-Class

1) I have to re-edit my pictures and apply the new images (that make my assemblage) to a new medium (draw them out). 2) -my pictures and the current meaning they hold     -my revamped meaning (for the assemblage product)     -my blog platform for the assemblage 3)-the medium needs to change (to hand-drawn)    -the editing of the pictures kind of clouds the meaning (and how it will change)    -add more/exchange some images for others that are more representative of the change I'm trying to showcase 4) I could compose a video of the original spread of images I have or I could paint them on a canvas as a part of one whole image (different from sketching them as different images).
